League Information
Soleil Fantasy Football consists of two leagues: the Soleil AFC and the Soleil NFC.
Both leagues are played on Yahoo Fantasy Football and use the same basic league format and scoring settings. Jim serves as commissioner of the AFC, while Kurt serves as commissioner of the NFC.
Although the AFC and NFC are separate Yahoo leagues, everyone is part of one Soleil Fantasy Football community. Players from both leagues share our GroupMe, website, weekly recaps, and combined standings.
Weekly Lineups
Each week, managers are responsible for setting their own starting lineup.
A player must be placed in your starting lineup before that player’s NFL game begins. Once the game starts, that player is locked into his current position for the week.
You do not have to finalize your entire lineup before the Thursday night game. Players whose games have not started can still be moved in or out of your lineup right up until their individual kickoff times.
A good habit is to review your complete lineup before the first NFL game of the week and then check it again Sunday morning.
Waivers and Free Agents
Players who are not currently on a fantasy roster may be available as free agents or through waivers.
If a player is on waivers, managers may submit a waiver claim. Yahoo processes those claims according to the league’s waiver priority rules.
If a player is listed as a free agent, he can usually be added immediately.
Waiver priority can change during the season, so check Yahoo if you are unsure of your current position.
Injured Reserve
Yahoo allows eligible injured players to be moved into an IR position.
An IR position can be valuable because the injured player remains on your team without using one of your regular bench spots.
When the player is no longer IR-eligible, Yahoo may require you to move him back to your active roster before you can make other roster moves.
Trades
Managers may trade players with other teams during the season, subject to Yahoo league rules and the league trade deadline.
Trades should be made in good faith and should be intended to improve both managers’ teams.
Scoring
Our leagues use Yahoo Fantasy Football scoring.
Fantasy points are based on the real-life performance of NFL players each week. Yahoo automatically calculates all scoring.
Because different fantasy leagues can use different scoring systems, always use the scoring shown inside our Soleil Yahoo league when evaluating players.
Standings and Playoffs
Yahoo maintains the official AFC and NFC league standings throughout the season.
The Soleil Fantasy Football website also includes combined standings so everyone can see how all Soleil teams compare across both leagues.
Yahoo league standings and playoff qualification remain based on each individual AFC or NFC league.
