Around the League – Week 1
AFC vs. NFC
Round 1 goes to the NFC — barely.
The top scores from each league were separated by less than four points:
NFC — Buzzing Jackets (Eric): 153.80
AFC — Touchdown Dance Denise: 149.96
That gives the NFC the first Soleil-wide scoring crown by just 3.84 points.
But the AFC gets one Week 1 bragging right of its own: the closest matchup. Tipsy Tacklers (Angie) escaped with a 2.42-point victory, compared with the NFC’s closest finish of 2.90 points.
After Week 1: NFC has the high score; AFC has the nail-biter.
Soleil High Score
Buzzing Jackets (Eric) — NFC — 153.80 points
Buzzing Jackets takes the first Soleil Fantasy Football High Score of the season, edging AFC leader Touchdown Dance Denise by only 3.84 points.
Denise’s 149.96 would have won almost any other week — but not this one.
The bar has officially been set at 153.80.
Closest Finish
Tipsy Tacklers (Angie) 107.72 over Let’s Go!! (Steve) 105.30 — AFC
Margin: 2.42 points
That edges out the NFC thriller between Serenity Now (Howard/David) and FowlBall (John), decided by 2.90 points.
If you lost one of these games, it’s probably best not to calculate how many lineup decisions could have changed the outcome.
Commissioner Shout-Out
2-Min Drill Jim — NFC
Jim scored 126.30 points, the third-highest total in the NFC.
His reward?
A matchup with Buzzing Jackets (Eric) and their league-leading 153.80.
That’s fantasy football’s version of doing everything right and still getting run over by a truck.
A special shout-out also goes to Touchdown Dance Denise, who led the AFC with 149.96 while somehow leaving Jalen Coker’s 29.8 points sitting on the bench.
Bragging Rights
Week 1 Bragging Rights
Soleil High Score: Buzzing Jackets (Eric), NFC — 153.80
AFC High Score: Touchdown Dance Denise — 149.96
Closest Finish: Tipsy Tacklers (Angie) over Let’s Go!! (Steve) — 2.42 points
NFC Closest Finish: Serenity Now (Howard/David) over FowlBall (John) — 2.90 points
Biggest NFC Win: Senior Football (David) over Waddle we talking about here (Dan) by 47.50 points
AFC Bench Regret of the Week: Jalen Coker — 29.8 points on Denise’s bench
Week 1 bragging rights belong to plenty of people — although Denise may want the bench award returned.
Around the League Notes
Week 1 delivered pretty much everything we could have asked for: huge scores, close finishes, blowouts, big performances left on benches, and at least one very good team that lost anyway.
Most importantly, we now get to see what’s happening on both sides of Soleil Fantasy Football.
AFC players can finally see what the NFC is doing. NFC players can see what’s happening in the AFC. And every week we’ll track the scores, surprises, bragging rights, funny moments, and anything else worth sharing.

It’s only Week 1.
Nobody panic yet.
I’d use these as the final Week 1 versions. The only thing I’d still consider later is adding manager names for any other less-obvious teams that come up in future weeks.
