Week 7 NFC Recap
Week 7 gave Jim the scoring crown, Kurt a convincing comeback, and Carol just enough room to keep her winning streak alive. The top four teams all won, Eric remains first overall in Soleil, and the NFC’s leaders are making everyone else work to keep up. Glen, meanwhile, would probably like a second opinion on what qualifies as “Sunday Funday.”
Jim Turns Up the Drill
2-Min Drill (Jim Meeder) earned Week 7’s scoring honors with 129.28 points, the highest total across both Soleil conferences.
Jim collected his sixth consecutive victory, improved to 6-1, and remains second in both the NFC and the overall standings with 850.28 season points.
He edged AFC scoring leader Jim’s Fantasy Force (Jim Kappes) by just 0.64 points for Soleil’s weekly crown. Two Jims, one scoring title, and less than a point separating the bragging rights. Meeder gets this round.
Jim also trimmed Eric’s season scoring lead from 56.00 to 31.20 points. That two-minute drill is getting closer to the end zone.
Biggest Win: Kurt Chooses the Super Bowl Option
Super Bowl or Bust (Kurt) defeated Chris on 3, 125.00–73.30, delivering the NFC’s largest victory at 51.70 points.
It was also the biggest margin across both Soleil conferences.
Kurt snapped a four-game losing streak, improved to 3-4, and climbed from tenth to eighth place. After several weeks leaning toward “Bust,” the other half of the team name finally made an appearance.
Chris fell to 1-6 with a sixth straight defeat and remains eleventh. Scoring 73.30 against 125.00 leaves little room for a dramatic finish. Chris may want to call a team meeting—and make attendance in the end zone mandatory.
Closest Finish: Carol Leaves Glen Just Short
Ground & Pound (Carol Stack) edged Sunday Funday (Glen), 86.72–85.22, in Week 7’s closest NFC matchup.
The 1.50-point margin was the smallest across both Soleil conferences.
Carol earned her fifth straight victory, improved to 6-1, and remains third in the NFC and fourth overall.
Ground & Pound continues to squeeze impressive mileage out of modest scores. Carol isn’t wasting points on unnecessary luxuries, such as comfortable margins.
Glen fell to 2-5 with a second consecutive loss. Last week the Dawgs interrupted Sunday Funday; this week Carol left him 1.50 points short. Glen might want to try Saturday.
Eric Keeps the Jackets Out Front
Buzzing Jackets (Eric Strevel) scored 104.48 points, earning his third consecutive victory and improving to 6-1.
Eric remains first in the NFC and first overall in Soleil, with 881.48 season points.
Jim Meeder is now just 31.20 points behind, so the Jackets’ lead comes with company. Eric still has the best view in the standings, but Jim is getting close enough to ask about the seating arrangements.
With Eric, Jim, and Carol all winning again, the NFC’s three-way tie at the top remains intact.
FowlBall Keeps Flying; Senior Football Bounces Back
FowlBall (John Fowler) scored 95.52 points, earning his fourth straight win and improving to 5-2.
John remains fourth in the NFC with 752.88 season points, just one game behind the leaders.
Four straight victories suggest FowlBall has found a flight plan worth keeping. The teams ahead may want to check their mirrors for incoming feathers.
Senior Football (David McCleskey) scored 111.40 points, snapping a two-game losing streak and improving to 4-3.
David moved from sixth to fifth place, with 761.58 season points. Senior Football supplied the NFC’s fourth-highest score of the week and a welcome reminder that there’s still plenty of offense left in the playbook.
Serenity Slips; the Dawgs Have Plenty of Bark but No Win
Serenity Now (Howard / David) scored 73.62 points and suffered a third consecutive loss, falling to 4-3 and sixth place.
Three losses after a 4-0 start will test any team’s commitment to serenity. Howard and David may need to add a relaxation exercise to the weekly lineup routine.
Barking Dawgs (Michael Parker) posted 123.74 points, the NFC’s third-highest score, but still took a loss.
Michael’s two-game winning streak ended, dropping him to 3-4. He remains seventh, just 3.00 season points ahead of Kurt.
After spoiling other teams’ plans for two weeks, the Dawgs joined the “great score, wrong opponent” club. Plenty of bark, plenty of points, and somehow no biscuit.
Player Highlights: Pollard Powers Ahead
Tony Pollard led the NFC’s player highlights with 35.00 fantasy points.
That was also higher than the AFC’s leading player total, Joe Burrow’s 28.88. Pollard gave his managers the kind of performance that makes checking the score a pleasant habit.
Trevor Lawrence was listed at 0 in the NFC’s lowest-player highlight, one week after leading both conferences with 28.34 points.
From the top of the highlights to a zero on the scoreboard in one week. Fantasy football certainly doesn’t offer much time to enjoy last week’s headlines.
Pam Has a Quiet Week; Dan Keeps Waiting
Any Given Pam scored 47.20 points, the NFC’s lowest total of Week 7.
Pam fell to 2-5 and slipped from eighth to tenth place. After scoring 115.14 in last week’s victory, this was a much quieter Sunday. “Any Given Pam” would probably prefer not to give this particular performance again.
Waddle we talking about here (Dan Gillis) scored 94.42 points, a 36.20-point improvement over last week, but remains 0-7.
Dan is still twelfth in the NFC and Soleil’s only manager seeking a first victory.
The scoring improved, but the celebration remains on hold. Keep the party supplies handy, Dan—at this point, that first win deserves more than a polite handshake.
Standings Watch: The Leaders Keep Winning
Buzzing Jackets, 2-Min Drill, and Ground & Pound lead at 6-1, ranked in that order by season points.
FowlBall follows at 5-2, while Senior Football and Serenity Now sit at 4-3.
Barking Dawgs and Super Bowl or Bust are 3-4, followed by Sunday Funday and Any Given Pam at 2-5.
Chris on 3 is 1-6, and Waddle we talking about here remains 0-7.
Jim has won six straight, Carol five straight, John four straight, and Eric three straight. The NFC’s top four are turning winning streaks into a group activity—and nobody seems eager to leave.
Looking Ahead
Jim takes the scoring crown, Kurt delivers the biggest victory, and Carol survives the closest finish. Eric keeps first overall, John makes it four straight, and David gets Senior Football back into the win column.
Week 8 offers another chance to close the gaps and change the conversation. Check those lineups, watch the bye weeks, and keep the friendly trash talk coming. Glen may need an extra 1.51 points set aside for emergencies.
